Official ATLAS Riders

Dove vivi?
Vivo a Eatonville Washington.
The bottom kit in black.

How old were you when you first got into motorcycles?
I have always been interested in motorcycles, but when I was 12-13 years old I got to sit on the back of my father's Yamaha R1. And from there I was on a mission to get a motorcycle license as quickly as possible.
Where do you call home?
My home is what I consider to be one of Norway's most beautiful counties, Telemark. Telemark can offer everything from forests and mountains to the sea and is a fantastic county to experience from a motorbike.
What is your dream ride?
My bucket list is getting long. But Iceland, Umling La and Dalton Higway are high on the list.
What ATLAS kit are you using?
I'm using the throttle lock top kit.
Tell us about yourself and your riding style.
A few years back, I discovered the thrill of adventure riding, and it quickly became my passion. Since then, I've been captivated by the excitement it brings. All year around. Most of my journeys involve shorter rides after work or on weekends. I enjoy packing a field kitchen, sleeping bag, and tent, relishing the experience of staying outdoors.
Being an avid photographer, my camera is a companion on these rides, capturing the moments. Additionally, I serve as a coach at MCkurs.org, an organization dedicated to rider development for street motorcycles. Recognizing that one is never fully trained as a rider, I regularly participate in courses and continually trying to enhance my riding skills.

What's in your garage?
A Triumph Tiger Sport 660 and a Triumph Bonneville Street Cup 900 (also a partially disassembled "project bike" 1981 Kawasaki KZ440).
Tell me about your favorite bikes from the past.
I started riding on the legendary Honda CB750, and worked my way through cruisers (Suzuki Marauder, Yamaha Bolt C-Spec), sports bikes (Suzuki SV650), and adventure bikes (BMW G 310 GS) - my current bikes are the ones I love the most. Triumph seems to hit all the right buttons for me.
How old were you when you first got into motorcycles?
I came to it relatively late, at the ripe old age of 35. Took an MSF course on a whim, and loved it ever since.
Where do you call home?
I live right outside of Chicago, in a western suburb.
What is your dream ride?
Personally, I love long distance trips that involve some off-road. Nothing too complicated, maybe gravel fire roads, etc. I take a lot of trips to Wisconsin, where there are hills, valleys, and fun empty farm roads. I'd recently taken a 4000 mile, 9 day loop from Chicago to Arizona and back, that took me and my step-brother through multiple states, extreme elevation and weather changes (heat, snow, rain, desert, mountains). The whole trip can be seen here. It would have been nice to have the Atlas then!
What ATLAS kit are you using?
I'm using the top kit.

As someone who has gone through MSF classes, and actually became an MSF instructor for a time, I'm fairly safety conscious and believe in continual rider education. Though I'm not opposed to taking some risks from time to time, I generally take riding seriously, and don't fool around when I ride. I've done several track days, taken off-road and adventure riding courses, do solo and group trips and commute whenever the weather permits. I'm also heavily engaged in the riding community by contributing to the Tonit App in their Community Champion program that they'd had for a few years, writing motorcycle related articles for TopSpeed.com, developing my own content on YouTube, and being part of the MotoVenue Adventure Riding Courses that is being launched this year in the Midwest.

What's in your garage?
At the moment I only own one motorcycle which is my 2023 Triumph Scrambler 900 Chrome edition.
Tell me about your favorite bikes from the past.
My favorite bike from the past I would say my 2017 Triumph Bonneville street cup because within the 5yrs of ownership, I had many unforgettable adventures and invested a lot on the bike.
How old were you when you first got into motorcycles?
I grew up riding dirt bikes and around 19 is when I started learning how to ride a street bike.
Where do you call home?
I stay in sunny California in a city called Riverside to be exact.
What is your dream ride?
My dream bike I would say the Triumph Tiger 900. Just the fact its comfortable, you're sitting upright and its just set up for adventure touring.

My name is Tony, I'm 38 years old and I am a motorcyclist content creator. I have been riding for 19 years. Riding is more than a hobby, its part of who I am. I have an unpredictable, spontaneous personality. I go with the flow and wing it all the time. Sometimes the best moments are the ones you didn't plan at all. I am very charismatic and friendly. I enjoy meeting new people and riding to new places.

What's in your garage?
Alas, we don’t own one! We’re location independent, so although we own property, we rent it out.
Tell me about your favorite bikes from the past.
Well, our current bikes are our all-time favourites, KTM 500 EXC-Fs, which take the prize above any motos we’ve been astride in the past. If you’ve ridden one, you’ll know why. Identical in model, we can share spares and parts, meaning we can problem-solve when one’s faulty.
- They’re light at 247 pounds dry, ideal for where we wish to take them. After the F800 GS, Jason will never wish his bike was that heavy in the loose stuff behind Captain Slow. Ever. Again.
- Their purpose is to do everything technical that lightweight 4-stroke enduros can do but do it easier than their 250 equivalent, for instance, as the power delivery is predictable and linear.
- They have a decent engine and ample power for adventure riding without a propensity to stall.
- The 500 delivers power like a trial bike, making it easier to ride. (Throttle control is a must-have.)
- The enduro gearbox means the first gear is not snatchy, which will be a dream with challenging starts on tricky technical terrain. The sixth gear will also allow me to keep pace on the highways.
- These bikes also have a quality suspension, which comes as standard.
- Sure, they don't have long service intervals but guess what? We're not racing them, so we can extend those accordingly. They need few major mods (e.g., a bigger IMS fuel tank and a Seat Concept seat with a Wild Ass cushion) to work well off-road from the get-go.
- Above all, they’re a blast to ride and it feels fantastic that we've heeded all the lessons learned from the previous RTW jaunt. No one's ever going to wish their bike was heavier...h-u-r-r-a-h, ours feel as light as dandelion seeds compared to being astride our old BMWs.
How old were you when you first got into motorcycles?
I was somewhat late to the party at 31, and Jase was a teen. For me, it began when I fell into biking after winning a taster session astride a 50cc automatic from a competition at a UK bike event, passing my test and days later, stumbling upon Pearl, a factory-lowered 2001 BMW F650 GS, on eBay. She matched the colour of my helmet beautifully, much to Jason’s exasperation! An epiphanic moment later, he recognized the practicality of Pearl, assigning her pack mule status while reserving his 2008 BMW F800 GS for "tech" purposes: a drone, camera, and lenses. After voyaging in a container ship with the bikes, we clocked 80,000 miles from Argentina to Alaska, taking in Antarctica to the Arctic.
Where do you call home?
Wherever we kick the side stands down. Or pull up the handbrake and erect the rooftop tent. Or throw the sleeping bags down on the ground.
What is your dream ride?
I’m on it! We’re calling it the Mega Transect, which comprises a square: from North America to South America, traversing up the African continent, through Europe, and back to the UK. Our previous bike trip from the southernmost tip of Argentina to the top of Alaska, when we ran out of road going north in Prudhoe Bay, was pretty dreamy, too! We clocked 80,000 miles and explored 21 countries from the white continent, Antarctica, to the Arctic over a four-and-a-half-year period of sublime craziness.
What ATLAS kit are you using?
Two extremely nifty black Bottom Throttle Locks. Pure genius.
Tell us about yourself and your riding style.
I find immense joy in off-road riding for those awe-inspiring views away from the tarmac. My nickname from Jason is Captain Slow, indicative of my riding style. His words from the Motivational School of Jason, “Give it some beans, Princess: I can’t ride your bike for you!” stopped resonating a long time ago. I love riding slowly. Although I still wonder if that’s why you rarely hear the term ‘male intuition.’
As a champion for female riders in a rapidly growing market, I may not have been born with natural riding skills. Still, I am living proof that you can obtain your license, hop on two wheels, and venture anywhere near or far. It’s incredibly empowering.
The allure of the outdoors is just as strong as my passion for writing about it. Like Jason, I need a creative outlet that resonates deeply, and I am grateful that my words keep the fuel flowing. My side hustles on the trails are complemented by rewarding collaborations and partnerships in the world of gear. Together, they propel me on this exhilarating path.
Jason is a more aggressive rider, can handle technical terrain, and is an avid adventurer. He’s drawn to the exhilaration of off-road journeys that lead to hard-to-reach, hidden destinations. For him, the perfect ending to a day on the road is pitching a sleeping bag next to a crackling campfire, surrounded by untamed wilderness.
With an infatuation for vast open spaces and capturing the essence of light, photography has been his insatiable passion since the age of 14. Evolving his globally published portfolio in adventure travel, landscape, wildlife, and underwater photography, Jason is a talented photographer, drone pilot, and videographer.

2018 KTM 1090 Adventure
Tell me about your favorite bikes from the past.
My favourite bike from the past was probably my 2007 Kawasaki Versys 650. It was simple, tough, comfortable and reliable and allowed me to worry less about the bike and more about the adventure!
How old were you when you first got into motorcycles?
A late-ish starter, I got into 2 wheels with a Gilera Runner during my university time at the ripe old age of 21!
Where do you call home?
I currently live in Hamburg, Germany.
What is your dream ride?
If you mean the bike, then probably what I have now! The 1090 adventure promises all that the Versys gave me, but with more space, more power, more comfort and therefore more miles!
What ATLAS kit are you using?
I have the ATLAS Throttle Lock bottom kit.

I like to push on in the twisties and tend to enjoy the road first and scenery second. Although with advancing years I notice that this balance is slowly shifting in the other direction! I like to rely on reading the road and planning the corners rather than coming in hot and hammering the brakes and I enjoy nothing more than a perfectly executed string of rev-matched downshifts before a nice late apexed S-bend!

What's in your garage?
Yamaha FZ6R which I plasti-dipped, wrapped and painted in my favorite 3 colors: black, white and red.
Tell me about your favorite bikes from the past.
The FZ6R would be my first official bike. Previously, when I was younger, I owned a Honda Dio Moped and two small quad bike in Lebanon (one was automatic without reverse and the other was 3 gears forward and a reverse gear which was very convenient!)
How old were you when you first got into motorcycles?
I was about 13 years old when I started on the quad bike and the moped in Lebanon.
Where do you call home?
I was originally born in Lebanon and moved to the states in 2014. The definition of home has changed to me throughout the years as I have moved multiple times within the states. To me, home is not a fixed place and it is within me wherever I go and feel surrounded with good company.
What is your dream ride?
Every safe ride is a dream ride. Riding with a best friend/significant other or possibly my kids (God willing) in the future.
What ATLAS kit are you using?
Tell us about yourself and your riding style.
I purchased the Yamaha FZ6R since it is an intermediate 600cc sport touring bike. I like to ride safely while still having some thrill. I enjoy accelerating on straightaways when visibility is clear.

I recently test-rode a custom Royal Enfield GT650 build from BAAK and I fell in love with the cafe racer and sport look of it. I also got to play with a Scrambler Ducati; that machine was FAST! I have to say… no matter how many motorcycles I get to ride, I will always be a proud Harley girl.
How old were you when you first got into motorcycles?
I started riding 3 years ago. I got my first and only motorcycle when I was 28. I was the first in my family to ride, so you can imagine my parent’s reaction when I told them I was buying a motorcycle, let alone a Harley Davidson.
Where do you call home?
Los Angeles, California has been my home for over 15 years.
What is your dream ride?
I don’t have a specific bike I would like to own, BUT if anything my dream ride would probably be one that I put together. Hopefully one day I’ll have my own garage and be able to build one from scratch. A Panhead would be nice :)

I’m just a gal who loves motorcycles and won’t shut up about it. I know I have a lot to learn still, but I’m ready! One of my goals as a motorcycle rider is to inspire others (especially women) to start their motorcycle journey. I get overwhelmed with joy when people tell me I inspired them to start riding motorcycles. I want to celebrate people who ride and share with them genuine experiences. So… see you on the road.

What's in your garage?
Currently a 2021 Tenere 700 with a number of mods from a Dyno tune, Crash bars, bark busters, Acerbis skid plate, Denali auxiliary lighting, Mosko Reckless 40 bags, Camel anti-bobble and 1 finger clutch, Pro-taper Adventure handlebars and more I'm probably forgetting. 47,000kms and counting!
Tell me about your favorite bikes from the past.
I adored my 1995 KLR 650. I picked it up for a whopping $2200 CAD with 25k on the clock. This was my shift from street riding into ADV style adventures. It kicked open the doors to dirt roads and campsites. I remember my first night ride to a mountain lookout above the town of grand forks with a highschool friend on his XR650. Other notable rides would be visiting Glacier park in Montana and having just enough horsepower to avoid a Bear that charged out from the ditch looking for a thumpy lunch!
How old were you when you first got into motorcycles?
I was 18 when I got my first bike. It was a miled-out Suzuki Katana 750. I spent the winter prepping the body work for paint. It was sprayed black with red pearl. Riding over 20k kms my first summer the engine finally called it quits with 88,000kms and 60Psi engine compression. It's still in the shed at my Dad's awaiting its resurrection.
Where do you call home?
That's a tough one right now. Currently my work project brings me to Calgary, Alberta. When I'm away from work I gravitate to the lower mainland of BC, Chilliwack specifically.
What is your dream ride?
I'll have to pick more than one here! I've had recent infatuations with the current BMW S1000RR. The thought of 200hp+ in German trim is unparalleled. Though I feel without access to the Autobahn the true nature of this bike would never be known. On the other end of the spectrum I've joked that if Indian Motorcycles made a 400lb Adv bike in the 100-120hp range with a 21"/18", 8'+ of travel and 10" of ground clearance I'd have to buy it. My riding partner will never let me hear the end of it if that day comes. (Are you listening, Indian?)
What ATLAS kit are you using?
I'll be using a bottom kit. There's lots of tank clearance to my tank with the taller bars and actuation will be easier with thick gloves.
Tell us about yourself and your riding style.
I try to do a bit of everything. The Tenere 700 is an awesome all rounder. This past summer we rode 27,000kms total. All of this included days of Single track offroad riding, logging roads of Vancouver island and BC, Red dirt roads in Moab Utah, Interstate highways to tiny two laners and mountain passes such as Beartooth Pass and even higher altitude passes like Mount Evans, Colorado. That's all travel riding I could say. Healthy mix of on and off road. At home a majority of my time is spent practicing individual skills, drag racing, group rides and goofing off with my core group of riding buddies.

What's in your garage?
Triumph Bonneville T100 Black.
Tell me about your favorite bikes from the past.
I loved my Kawasaki Ninja 300. The Ninja 300 was perfect for learning to ride a motorcycle, It was lightweight, nimble and held a good enough power for a 300cc engine. In terms of comfort, the Royal Enfield Classic was amazing, the seat had coils for comfort and the riding position was amazing. However it lacked power and there was significant vibration in the handlebars on some gears.
How old were you when you first got into motorcycles?
I was always into motorcycles since I was a kid, I started riding mopeds when I was a teenager, then scooters and finally motorcycles at 24.
Where do you call home?
Land down under, Melbourne.
What is your dream ride?
My dream ride would be Kashmir and the Himalayas. The views and the untouched nature of civilization motivates me to travel to these places to explore, get lost and find my way.
What ATLAS kit are you using?
The Top Kit in Black.

In a day and age where everything and anything is good by influencers, my goal is to try out products and accessories and share my likes and dislikes. I aim to promote products that I like and are practical for riders. I've been on the hunt for an affordable cruise control solution for some time now and I've tried other types of throttle locks; But the ATLAS throttle lock has a unique design that I believe, makes it reliable. The beauty of motorcycling is you can change your riding style whenever you please. My riding style is mostly pretty chilled, I love to enjoy the nature views by riding off-road and also turn heads in the city streets.

What's in your garage?
Currently in my garage there is a Triumph Bonneville Street Twin, a recently acquired BMW F700GS, a Honda Super Cub and a Suzuki Tu250x.
Tell me about your favorite bikes from the past.
My favourite bike from the past has to be the Kawasaki ZZR400, this was my first motorcycle, it was a magnificent ride and allowed me to explore and broaden my horizons! A great nod to my choice may be that I later realised that is the same model bike Uma Thurman rides in Kill Bill, mine was blue and hers yellow. The other favourite is the Suzuki Van Van (RV125 from 1970s) , it is such an iconic bike and I grew up seeing my grandad and uncles riding these in my childhood so I have great memories and these still exist in the family.
How old were you when you first got into motorcycles?
I passed my licence when I was 18 but I had to wait until I was 22 to get my first bike. The funny side of this was that although legally I was allowed to ride, I had forgotten it all and so I had to practise in empty car parks before getting on the busy roads.
Where do you call home?
Home is where I live and ride, currently I live in the UK in Bristol but I grew up in Lisbon, Portugal. I still consider Portugal one of my homes as I go there often and it is where my family lives; I also have my Suzuki there to ride when I am visiting.
What is your dream ride?
Well there are plenty of dream rides I have on my bucket list but for sure one would be from Cape Town, along the Garden Route, then up to Kruger National Park. Africa has so much to offer in terms of riding challenges and amazing vistas with wonderful wildlife.Especially, I would enjoy the route along the coast with the rugged sea views.
What ATLAS kit are you using?
I currently have the bottom kit on my BMW F700GS, I also have used it extensively on the Bonneville, specially on a 99 day trip in Europe. It was essential to take the strain off my wrist and give it a rest over the duration of the tour.
Tell us about yourself and your riding style.
My name is Marta and I am an IT project manager. My background is in Forensic Science and I guess motorcycles were present but not dominant in my younger years. In my family they were just seen as toys and also perceived as predominantly for males. Motorcycling came more into my life in my university years, I had a tight budget but wanted to explore more of the UK and motorcycling seemed to tick the boxes. It allowed me to expand my horizons and learn a bit about mechanics. I had such a tight budget I had to resort to doing the maintenance at home. In terms of riding style, I think it definitely evolved with my skills. I tried different types of bikes from sports bikes to quite aggressive naked bikes to modern classics for more softer paced rides. I enjoy a lot of touring and exploring on motorcycles so I guess I became more focused on that . By my quite eclectic garage you can see I have a soft spot for classic looking bikes but also can appreciate the advantages of a bigger modern well engineered adventure motorcycle. I have an interest in the history of motorcycling and why some models became iconic, that is why I have a cute Honda SuperCub as my commuter to work rather than just an uncharacteristic scooter.

I haven't had many bikes, but the Kawasaki Z750 has remained in my heart. I wanted it from when I was 15 until I bought it at 23. I didn't keep it because it went against my desire to travel and explore!
How old were you when you first got into motorcycles?
I can't call it a motorcycle, but at 5 I was riding my father's 50cc scooter. At 14 I became independent with my first scooter and at 16 I got my first real bike: the KTM 125 EXC of the year 2004. I remember it with great affection, in fact I returned years later always in KTM.
Where do you call home?

What is your dream ride?

My wife Marisa and I then bought a 2014 KTM 1190 Adventure (S) and rode across 3 continents, 25 countries, and 86k miles on the back of over the course of 4 years. I just sold that KTM to upgrade to a 2016 KTM 1190 Adventure (R), but I will miss our original KTM as it took us to countless magical places.
How old were you when you first got into motorcycles?
I was in my early 20s when I got the itch to buy a motorcycle. I didn't know how to ride one when I purchased a 650cc Yamaha V-Star Classic and stalled up and down my block for a week before attempting to take it down any other road.
Where do you call home?
After selling all our possessions, we technically don't have a home, but we have a couple of 'home bases' in the States. We like to go back to the States and spend time with friends and family every 2 years just outside of Chicago.
What is your dream ride?
My wife and I have ridden through Mexico, Central, and South America, and halfway up the African continent. The two of us have experienced so many wonderful memories that will stay with us for the rest of our lives, and we have only covered a tiny portion of the world. But we are extremely excited to ride around Iceland!
What ATLAS kit are you using?
Bottom kit black. Fits great and is out of the way until needed!

We are 2Up (and Overloaded) so we tend to travel a little slower than most. But Marisa and I love to crawl our way over rocky mountains, through rivers, and down switchbacks as we meander around the world. Marisa creates YouTube content on our travels as I write books and magazine articles to help reflect how truly amazing traveling the world on two wheels can be.

What's in your garage?
I ride a 2021 Yamaha Tenere 700.
Tell me about your favorite bikes from the past.
Probably my favorite from the past was a Triumph Scrambler 900, it wasn't the best bike I've ever had but it had the most personality and character.
How old were you when you first got into motorcycles?
I got into riding late, I learned how to ride at 32 and jumped feet first into it.
Where do you call home?
Currently the road is home. I'm attempting to travel and document my travels on the road for as long as possible.
What is your dream ride?
I have a bucket list of rides I hope to work through, I think following the Dakar or crossing the Simpson Desert in Australia would be pretty cool though.
What ATLAS kit are you using?
I have used Atlas throttle locks on five bikes at this point. Right now I have the top kit on my Tenere 700.

My joke is my riding style is badly. Or that I basically do dumb stuff off road. I try to ride as much dirt as I can so I guess the best description would be adventure riding.

Caitlyn: I saw a 1966 Harley Sportster at the Barber Vintage Motorcycle Museum that I absolutely fell in love with. Something I'll have to keep an eye out for one day.
Chris: I love classic motorbikes from the 60s and 70s, Triumph, Norton, BSA, but in a fantasy world I'd love to have a 1930 Brough Superior SS100.

How old were you when you first got into motorcycles?
Caitlyn: I didn't grow up with motorcycles, but I was always attracted to them. As many things in life, it was something I wanted to get into but was always on the back burner. That is until Chris got his first Triumph while we were dating. Before you know it, I was racking up tons of miles as a pillion and dreaming about being on my own bike.
Chris: I was always drawn towards motorcycles, but I didn't come from a family that rode. It wasn't until I was 19 that I was able to purchase my first bike, a Yamaha 600cc sport bike from the 80s for $500!

Where do you call home?
For the next few years we'll be traveling around on motorcycles, but the place we've lived that has felt the most like "home" is definitely New Orleans. Both of us instantly felt at home in the Big Easy, and our plans are to move back once we've traveled around the world.
What is your dream ride?
Caitlyn: My number one dream is to ride through Mongolia, but I also have a stone from the Arctic Ocean that I need to return. Chris grabbed it on his ride to Deadhorse to challenge me with returning it.
Chris: I feel like there's too many! Africa is probably number one on my list, especially North Africa. Morocco and Egypt are two I am very excited for.

We're Caitlyn and Chris and we are adventurous souls who love to travel to new places and meet new people. After watching the Long Way series for the first time, Caitlyn spit out the words "can we do that?" In just four words, a new dream and direction in life was born. We've been working towards that since, with Chris already knocking out a 16,000 mile trip to the top of Alaska and back, along with multiple trips across the US on a motorcycle.
Now we're about to embark on a trip of traveling full-time on motorcycles around North America for the next two years, while telling stories via YouTube on subjects that we find interesting. All this while Chris works his remote job from the road until we are ready to ship the bikes to Europe and begin tackling the rest of the world.

What's in your garage?
Currently I have ‘Victoria’, my 2009 Yamaha Vmax and a 2020 Honda Monkey.
Tell me about your favorite bikes from the past.
I bought an old ‘81 Honda CX500 and my father and I spent a winter building a cafe racer out of it. By April it turned out really cool and even though it wasn’t fast, it still turned heads. And some of the most fun I’ve had was on my old 1997 Yamaha Vmax. I put 18,000 miles on it in the 4 years I owned it.
How old were you when you first got into motorcycles?
I was roughly 8 years old when I first started on 2 wheeled motorcycles. I grew up on an old Honda Trail 70 and rode dirt bikes until I was old enough to ride a street bike.
Where do you call home?
I reside in Spokane, Washington. But I’m originally from a rural community that's just off the Columbia River called Gifford. Raised on a small farm surrounded by mountains of Douglas Fir and Ponderosa Pine with twisty back roads.
What is your dream ride?
I own it. I know it sounds cliche, but it’s true. The Vmax is everything I want in a bike. It’s got great handling, it’s comfortable, and the power is violent enough to make you poop your pants. The Vmax has such a unique design that the most frequent question I get is, “What kind of bike is that?” It's a motorcycle that’s been respected by all and holds quite the reputation.
What ATLAS kit are you using?
Currently running a black top kit on my Yamaha Vmax and a polished bottom kit on the Honda Monkey.

As much as I enjoy riding alone, I honestly have the most fun riding with my family and friends. I enjoy touring across the states and exploring new places just as much as ripping around town. I’ve been riding a long time and consider myself very composed while riding. If you happen to find me out riding in the wild, you may see me mixed in a group of stunt riders, out at the racetrack, or out riding with the wife. If you catch me out by myself, odds are, I have my camera with me to take pictures for Instagram.

My name is Malte and I like to travel by Motorcycle, Bicycle or with my backpack. I like to ride off-road and on-road, ideally both at the same trip. As I’m a new rider, (license since 2 years) I have still to learn a lot, especially the off-road stuff. My Husqvarna and all the accessories have to withstand a lot of punishment, mostly because of me tumbling off the bike in the dirt. But practice makes perfect, right? Nevertheless I feel unstoppable on my Motorcycle and I want to ride as much as possible. Beside riding I’m a mechanic hobbyist, working on 4x4s and on my Husqvarna of course. Recently I started making YouTube Videos about my Motorcycle and about traveling.

Tell me about your favorite bikes from the past.
This is a really hard one. At one time I had 32 motorcycles in my garage so picking a favorite isn’t easy. The bike that got me into adventure riding was a 2005 VStrom 650. Although not really made for off-road ADV riding, this bike took me places I had no business riding it. I took this bike all over Oregon. Another older favorite of mine in the ADV category was my 2002 KTM 640 Adventure. I loved this bike off road. It was so fun and with the larger tank it could go forever it seemed like. However you couldn’t ride it for long periods of time because the vibration from the famous LC4 motor would have your hands and feet numb in no time haha.

Kyle Cooper (A.K.A. Backcountry Adventure Motorsports) Backcountry Adv Motorsports is an adventure company I started back in 2016. Coming from a military and Law Enforcement background I’ve always enjoyed the outdoors as well as the serenity of being on a motorcycle and being disconnected from the stresses in our daily lives. Being on a motorcycle for me is truly a form of meditation and has helped me get through many hard times in my life as well as the mental wounds from both combat and law enforcement.
I started B.A.M. after being hurt while on the job that would later end up being a career ending injury in late 2015. This was the motivation to get out and do what I truly love on motorcycles. For 15 months after being medically retired, my family and I traveled in an RV to the all lower 48 states as well as Alaska and Canada. During this time I was fortunate enough to ride in all 50 states (I flew to HI) and explore what each state had to offer. We ended up settling down in Coeur d’Alene Idaho. Here we have so many areas to explore and it is an adventure playground. After settling here, I started my tour company and began doing more social media and found myself becoming an influencer. I had a large following early on as I was one of the first people in the US to own a new Honda Africa Twin (serial number is in the low 100s) and continued that traction as I began producing “how to” and ride videos when we were traveling. Since then I have started doing NW based guided trips on both ADV and snow bikes and as well as produce at least one video a week as either a gear or ride review. I’m currently revamping my website to add more space for ride and gear reviews and should have this available live soon. (Ridewithbam.com)
ADV Motorcycling is truly my life and other than my family, pretty much makes up who I am and what I enjoy doing. If I’m not at home spending time with my family, you can bet I’m on my bike exploring.

One of my favourite bikes was actually a 110cc pit bike that we used to rip around the local chalk quarrays! So much fun, and physically small enough that you basically couldn't hurt yourself if you fell off!

And although I do love a good blast on some great roads, I've recently started getting into more off road riding too, with hopes of getting a proper dirt bike in the near future.
